Star Award Saturdays: Mei Juan Liang

Every week at our staff meeting we give out a Star Award for going above and beyond! This past week the Star Award went to Mei Juan Liang '17 for being consistently professional and never failing to lend a hand when needed. Mei is a junior majoring in Electrical Engineering and has been working at the CCE for the past three years as a Community Service Recruiter/Office Assistant.
"As one of the Community Service Recruiters/Office Assistants at the Center for Civic Engagement, I help to support various projects throughout the office. I also assist in providing information to students regarding the CCE and the different opportunities and resources our office offers such as the student newsletter and the Service Listings Database. CCE’s work is important because we connect students with meaningful and rewarding opportunities leading to the development of skills, knowledge, and experience to becoming active and engaged citizens in the community.
One of my favorite aspects of working in the CCE are my different interactions with students visiting the office. I like learning about their diverse passions and helping them determine different opportunities to get involved regarding those interests. Working at the CCE for the past three years has been a rewarding experience in which I learned a great deal about different aspects of civic engagement and as well as being an active citizen." ‪#‎CCEAllStars‬ ‪#‎StarAwardSaturday‬
