This Week's Service Sightings Winners

Congratulations to SUNY KIDS (photo submitted by Annie Zhao) and the PricewaterhouseCoopers Scholars (photo submitted by Marisa Sweeney).

SUNY KIDS is an organization that takes impoverished children from Broome County on day trips every saturday. On a beautiful saturday last week, we took the kids to Apple Hills to pick some locally grown apples. After picking apples we walked around the orchard to see cows and pick flowers on the fields. This picture shows our secretary Matt, carrying a child on his shoulders as we walked back up the hill, on our way home. Though SUNY KIDS has only been around for a couple of years, and our trips on Saturdays are only for a couple of hours, in that time we share experience and provide support that stays with these children for years to come.

PwC Scholars, Andrea Meghan & Lauren Leong make a new friend at the PwC Scholars Kick-Off event at the Walnut Street Park on 9/11/12. The Scholars will be partnering with Safe Streets to revitalize the park as their 2012-2013 Community Service Day Project and will spend the year fundraising for the Walnut Street Park Project. The scholars plan to build a toddler park and community garden. (Submitted by Marisa Sweeney, Junior, Finance/PPL, msweene4@binghamton.edu)
